RICKY DIAMOND, are a stoner/metal/heavy hard rock trio from Spain, with melodic blues-based vibes. They are all from different places,: Arikat Yuseft (Vocals & Guitars) is half Spanish, half Palestinian. Iban Rubio (Bass Guitar) is Spanish and Max Evilsen (Drums & Percussions) is Danish. They recorded a powering new ten track album called 'Already Dead' which runs in at just over fifty minutes long and is the band’s debut album, and it’s an album that makes the band stand out from the pack, as these guys are more diverse than your run-of-the-mill stoner metal band.
Ricky Diamond's new CD 'Already Dead', at its core a formidable chunk of stoner rock with fiery guitar solos and catchy hard hitting music all round. Tracks like the outstanding ‘Bullet In Your Soul’ shows a more blues based buoyant catchy melodic style for the band and is bloody brilliant, solid riffs and fab raw vocals with slicing melodic blues guitar work, just listen to that buzzing solo mid-way through against the bass slabs, wonderful stuff, it’s also one of the albums longest songs at over seven minutes. The full-on rocker 'W.T.O.I.L.' throws a little Metallica style riffage in with the gritty guitar attack punk posture of say Motörhead. 'Already Dead' is the album that Evilsen and guitarist Arikat Yusef wanted to release for a long time, the guys share so many different influences, and they really wanted all of them to surge on the album. It goes from heavy Sabbath beats to faster punk rock energies. After the release of the band’s first EP called 'Morphine Lips', the guys really took their time to make sure there was no limits for this record. Even though the EP has a great stoner vibe to it and some real good catchy tunes, 'Already Dead' is much more worked through and really let’s lose all their objectives, and metal has a big part of their intentions, as punk rock has. The album really goes through a lot of distinctive phases and styles within the rock genres, and makes it electrifying to listen to. They even use a banjo on the song ‘Sweet and Salty’ ! Right now Ricky Diamond are preparing for what’s gonna be the presentation of the album on the live stage. From there they may kick off the tour. They try to fit lots of the new songs from Already Dead, mixed with some of the old stuff. They got some good hard-hitting songs that the rock crowd will enjoy.
