CRYSTAL PISTOL

Crystal Pistol did an awesome cameo in my last film The Love Crimes of Gillian Guess. Who knew that Vancouver boys could kick out the jams with such blitzkrieg ferocity and melodic fury. This band is built for a DOUBLE LIVE ALBUM. They are destined for a sweat fueled, sex jeweled Marshall Stacked Rise And Fall with Gotterdammerung blowing out the final curtain.

The band enters Oh Five with a new recording, firing on all cylinders and with girls throwing themselves like gazelles at the feet of these gods in training. Some say their combined criminal records will prevent a fully realized world tour. Some say those same dark deeds have given them the juice to squeeze their lemons all over town.

It’s all about the live show, and their followers and converts testify that the live show makes ’em feel like they are being greeted at Eternity’s Gate, all grammar and syntax of earthly existence being blown away in guitar choruses that lift them up on wings, their skinny fists raised high. “Let’s Rock” takes on commandment proportions with Crystal Pistol.

Oh yeah, the bio stuff… All you really need to know is that the lads were raised on robbery, schooled by wolves in an empty strip mall, learned about love and loneliness at the corner of East Hastings and Main and laboured in a piss factory in Chinatown to pay the rent.

They are the voice of missing children.
They are the conscience of Teenage Wasteland.
They are the sound of blonde on black.
They are the muscle of a daydream nation.

Who knows where the time goes when you are rocking with Crystal Pistol. Say it loud. They do us proud. Them Electric Dharma Bums.
